Hello May and Hello to You!
Spring is well and truly here and as always, the sun is teasing us with its presence; but, summer is on its way, WE ARE OPEN and this makes us very happy indeed!
We are delighted to be able to welcome you all in store again and those who have been in to see us already will have spotted some changes - particularly in the town hall. Lockdown gave us the chance to get more creative than ever, so we decided to reinvent our emporium space to celebrate Pembrokeshire living. We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world and with plenty of time for reflection, we came up with idea of championing our gorgeous county. Now, the clock tower is brimming with lovely gifts, books, casual clothing, gin, bags, toys, crafts and more - all inspired by Pembrokeshire. We hope you love it as much as we do!
The Walled Garden
Lucie and Jamie are busy bringing the walled garden to life and it’s bursting with lovely plants and flowers, which are also available for sale at The Malthouse. The garden is situated just off the main High Street, beyond Malthouse Antiques and has become a pretty, tranquil haven for you to enjoy with a takeout lunch or coffee. Please do enjoy using it, we created it for you.
Narberth is the Place to Be!
There are lots of new, exciting things going on in our market town. The old school next to the car park is being renovated and workers are busy creating a new eatery, ‘Hwb’ for Narberth. You can track their progress on social media @hwbnarberth, so give them a follow and see how they’re doing. We are looking forward to seeing the old school come to life in a different outfit!
The Angel Inn has re-opened and is now a wonderful gastro pub offering superb home cooked food using local produce; real ales and fresh coffee. The big surprise is to the rear of the pub where you will find a brand new garden terrace! Here, you can eat, drink and enjoy the sunshine!
The Queen’s Hall is, as always, buzzing with activity and has been creating some fantastic, live-streaming events for you to enjoy at home. It now boasts a restaurant/cocktail bar combo too - ‘Foam’ has opened its doors for takeaways and like all the other wonderful cafes and restaurants in Narberth, they can’t wait to welcome you inside from Monday. You are, of course, welcome to enjoy a civilised take-out cocktail from Foam in our walled garden - when the sun decides to shine!
Never forget to venture around the corner at the bottom of the High Street, just beyond our Pembrokeshire Living emporium. St James Street offers lovely shops and eateries and now the old Barclays Bank building has opened its doors selling ‘Useful and Beautiful Things’.
We are so happy that Narberth is thriving after such a difficult time and we wish all the new businesses the best of luck with their exciting new ventures.
We are Hiring!
Last but not least, we have an exciting opportunity for someone keen to join our team! We are looking for a full-time, friendly sales assistant required to work primarily in our newly redesigned clock tower store, ‘Pembrokeshire Living’.
If you are forward thinking, flexible with a good work ethic, computer literate and with a creative flair that can translate through to digital platforms, then you could be the one for us! If you would like to apply, please email Anna Jones with a covering letter and cv to: Anna.j@goldensheafgallery.co.uk
Closing date: Wednesday 19th of May.
And on that note, we will sign off for now and wish you the happiest of springs, full of hope and optimism! We think we are all going to have an amazing summer and as always, we can’t wait to welcome you into The Golden Sheaf Gallery. Life really is beginning again.
Much love to you all!
